And we did see that...

But there was more... there was ducting in the rafters above the kitchen...

and in dad's bedroom...

and in the laundry room...

and in the master bedroom...

(where we also found some kind of power cabling...)

But as I cruised around the backyard, I looked up and saw there was ducting upstairs as well:

It was all through the family room:

And it ran down the boys' rooms' closets

(I'm guessing those will be soffitted in)
And as I examined it all more closely, I found that the heater/air conditioning unit has been installed as well!

here it is from the bathroom

and from the family room...

Isn't it purty?

The ducting now runs the length of the family room and down the exterior of the west wall...

(Again, this will be soffitted in, I'm sure)
As we're about to leave, Kyle notices that they've dug up part of the porch... and laid re-bar, readying a foundation for the porch post:

It's all looking pretty cool.

Are there issues? Of course. The stairwell window is still not resolved. The condensation drip pipe (if that's what it is) is weirdly placed (over the first story courtyard). The foundation/porch post isn't where it is on the plans. But all of these are relatively minor. We're still waiting to hear about the water main issue (Hickox didn't call me back, and by the time I remembered, it was after the close of the business day)... that one's not so minor.
But we meet with Fred on Sunday, so we'll get some answers then, I'm sure. And tomorrow is a blissful escape: the home opener of the UCLA football season at the Rose Bowl. Not going to think much about the house there, I'm hoping... just going to cheer on my favorite team to victory with Lisa and the boys (incliding dad)... can't wait.
