The Plan(s)

Although I posted (way bay in March), the early versions of architect David's "as-builts" (drawings of how the Maxine site looks now ... at least for the next few weeks), with all the hectic-ness of late June and July, I had failed to put up the approved plans.

Well, no more.

In an attempt to "get over" the plumbing situation (so far so good this morning), late last night I took photos of all the plans and input them into the computer (sorry for the not-quite-mint-print quality of these, but they give a pretty good picture).

And so here they are (the first bunch link to even larger pics in new windows [careful of those downloads, folks]...

So you can see the broad strokes (as well as some pretty cool details):
  • expanding the kitchen to the east by a couple of feet (to embed the counters)
  • adding a breakfast nook at the south end of the kitchen
  • blowing out the west wall of the kitchen, replacing it with a HUGE island, and making the majority of the first floor a truly great room
  • adding a dining room to the north
  • reconfiguring the master bed/bath/closet
  • reconfiguring the southwest bedroom (previously the boys', next to be Dad's) [closing off its access from the garage]
  • adding a laundry room (brining in those appliances from the garage)
  • adding a second story with
    • a huge family room
    • two bedrooms for the boys
    • a shared bath (with skylight) for those two rooms
    • and a great deck upstairs
All in all, a pretty ambitious plan.

And today, we meet with Fred from Coastline to see how things are going...
