So much for taking Lisa and the boys to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix today in IMAX.
Plumber wait: 30 minutes down, an hour or an hour and a half to go.
I'm scared to take a shower, wondering if that's going to further flood the boys' shower... it's pretty putrid now...

UPDATE [10:39]: Steve from Pipe Dreams just called... said he's on the way, should be here within 20 minutes. Wants me to go upstairs and ask the neighbors to curtail water usage for the next hour or so.
WHY THE FUCK IS THIS MY RESPONSIBILITY? I HATE THIS I HATE THIS IHATETHIS

UPDATE [10:49]: Steve from Pipe Dreams arrives. No one's in the upstairs apartments. Steve opens the door to the bathroom, which we've been keeping shut.
"Wow," he says, grimacing. "That's bad."
An expert opinion, ladies and gentlemen. No shit, Sherlock. I could have told you that.
He says that we need to find out what's been going on upstairs. We?

UPDATE [11:10]: Steve from Pipe Dreams leaves, after snaking the pipes again. The shower pan is empty for now. He says to pour bleach down the shower drain to alleviate at least some of the smell.
He says much of what he's finding is food. We tell him that we're scraping the plates into the trash then rinsing all the food from the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. He says he's not even sure it's our food... could be upstairs.
He says he'll need to come out tomorrow or Tuesday with a camera set-up to see what is going on in the pipes. In the meantime, he's leaving a note with the upstairs neighbors to curtail water usage until things have been checked out. And we're to shower only in our bathroom (not that either boy even wants to go into their own bath).
He's submitting a report to the local management, and says we should follow up tomorrow morning.
Wonderful.
