First we see the mound of dirt for the water meter...

But that is NOTHING: check out the front and beams/supports for the second story...

Get a little closer and the supports become even MORE apparent...

As I go around the house, I can where the second story will jut out from the first on the eastern side:

... this will be very nice... the kitchen door will have the shelter of the second story on those rainy days...

Through the dining room window, the second story foundation framing is really taking shape:

And around the house we go, and everywhere there's the beginnings of the second story

... at least until the master bedroom, where the second story foundation framing is still in its infancy:

Here's a look at the west wall...

Inside, looking at the east wall of the master bedroom, the feeling of a ceiling is incredible:

... and just as incredible is the idea that after 7:30 and these guys are still at work (here still in the master bedroom)...

The view north up the hall from the garage:

My prediction is that this will be covered with the second story foundation frame before the weekend.
The great room with the stairs in the background:

but that isn't my favorite shot of the living room... this one is:

The criss-then-cross of the second story foundation frame is just too cool...
The dining room is really taking shape as well:

But the coolest thing (I know I keep saying that, but let's face facts, it's ALL cool) is that the stairs are complete!

...and this is what it looks like up the stairs from the landing...

Who can resist? I climb the stairs to the penultimate step ('cause as Jason yells from the driveway, "Look out for that last step... it's a doozy!"), and take some pics of the second story foundation framing... from the second story!

that was the west... and this is the east...

Back down on the first story, the kitchen (north from the nook) looks long and spacious:

And even though it's time to leave for us (it's nearing 8), the guys show no sign of quitting, and so we head out the entry:

With school starting in just over a week and a half, stress is hitting Lisa and the boys (and its proximity but not-yet-arrival stresses me as I cannot wait to have uninterrupted worktime during the days), it's so great to come by the house and see all this progress. The neighbors come by to see the progress (they've been hearing) up close and personal, and the consensus is that we very well could be back in the house by the New Year (but let's not jinx it... let's just do it).
Let's keep moving on up!
