Trying to work. Trying to make calls, re: the house.
But I'm distracted. Tomorrow's the day, and all I want to do is curl up in a ball, pull the shades, and sit tight.
Made some Lowe's returns today, and picked up some wall hangers, and delivered them to the house... a mailbox, too. I'll take over the numbers later.
Chest is still tight, but not nearly as bad as last night. I'm hoping day after tomorrow it'll magically disappear.

UPDATE:
making calls:
Verizon... on hold FOREVER... freaking voice-activated phone tree... hate those... 5 minutes of yes-no-numbers and finally a person, and then 20min on the phone with her to get service... hook-up next Monday, sometime between 8-5
Carpeteria... our carpet is not yet out of production yet... Jan 4 install date... with other possible choices, next Saturday is a possibility... we need to talk to those guys...
now I sit with the speaker-phone on waiting for Lisa to pick up her classroom phone (she's supposed to be on her way from the office to her class [after class]), but I'm in my 5th minute of waiting...
this is not helping my chest or my attitude...
---------------------
UPDATE 2:
Lisa and I will have to trek out to Carpeteria this afternoon/evening.
Time/Worthless will be out next Thursday (the 27th) between 10am and noon.
Waiting to call Reeds for furniture delivery until we know more about the carpeting debacle...

UPDATE the last:
Night: we went to Carpeteria... we're getting a replacement (higher grade, better padding, $100 off for our troubles) installed either late Friday afternoon or early Saturday morning.
We went past the house. They've removed the paper from the floors, so while it's beautiful, it's prone to scratches. The mirrors, vanities, and hooks are all up, and looking good. The air conditioner condensor is installed outside the west wall (and it's huge). The fence is gone. The cement chunks are gone from the driveway. The fire sprinkler covers are up. There's a black iron railing on the front porch and up on the second story deck (and it doesn't look as ugly as I feared, as it "kinda" matches the exterior lights).
The only things missing now are the skylight, the interior stair rail, the roof shingle cleanup, the porch tile cleanup, and water. Yep, for some reason, the water has been turned off (and there's a huge puddle near the water hookup on the west side of the house)... I'm figuring it has something to do with the fire sprinklers... but who knows.
After the commemorative harbor cruise tomorrow, I'll return to the scene to find out about the water and the rest of the stuff (I'm thinking we're nearing the inspection, as the blueprints and the inspection card were on the kitchen counter)... and to take some pics... but that's tomorrow.

Hello. I like your blog and I see that you are talking about Carpeteria here. From this great site www.pissedconsumer.com i learned that Carpeteria stores provide a diverse range of carpet, vinyl and wood floor covering materials, area rugs, laminate, ceramic tile, granite, marble and different flooring related services such as expert installation. I have not yet bought anything from the company but I will consider the option.
