Grumpiness and a Mistake

It's been a while since I last blogged, but not much has happened since. We didn't get feedback on the second sink from Fred (of course, communication has been problematic: I lost my phone Monday night and only got a replacement tonight ... and it won't be on the network [so I can't retrieve voicemail] until tomorrow... but I emailed to him my situation, but sill no call... note the freaking frustration?)... so our plan is to order the sink tomorrow after Kyle's water polo games (plural... it's tournament time).

I cruised by the City yesterday to turn in our Neighborhood Preservation Program rebate info... since the work hasn't all been inspected, we needed to get an extension, but at least our paperwork was accepted (so we may see some cash back).

We cruised by the house today to find Josef the tile guy leaving. The boys' bathroom is complete, grout and all:

There's been some pretty good progress in the master bath, as well:

The second story deck has been given its base:

[of course, Lisa thinks this is the deck itself, and looking at the plans (something I had sworn, at least to myself, I would NOT do), she's right... she's concerned it's too rough for barefoot padding around... and she's probably right, there, too...]

The roof has been completed.

I'm sure this discoloring is going to be addressed, right?

Last weekend, we got the color samples together and came to some decisions about interior paint color. Or so I thought. After seeing the color of the cabinetry on Sunday, some of those decisions have been softened. Tuesday night, at Lowe's to pick up faucets and sink, Lisa picked up more paint samples. Then yesterday, she talked to her hair stylist, and today we dropped by the salon to pick up color books.

And so I'm basically grumpy. I DON'T want to have to rethink color because I just don't want to think anymore about all of this than I have too.
I think going by was a mistake for me. Except for seeing the stuff that is completely done (like the boys' bath, I love the color of the tile in the master bath, and the plan was a soft green for the walls... but looking at the cabinetry color (of which time is NOT soothing the wounds for me) means that choosing that green is going to have to walk a fine line to match both the sandstone of the tile and the more redder wood of the cabinets... joy.
it just brings me down.

Gotta get over it... or maybe I should be relegated to writing checks ... it's starting to feel like that's all I'm good for now
