Dispatches

Yesterday, Dana called to deliver the final price for the granite: $5905. Good. She also needs the $18K for windows (the last $18K [a little over a week ago], it turns out, was for plumbing). Man. Then, she also asked if Lisa and I would be interested in appearing in Coastline's Ventura County TV ad. I told her I wanted to confer with Lisa first.

Nuh-uh. No way. Even if I wasn't leaning toward unhappiness in all this, I'm not sure I would appear in an ad. Lisa said she didn't want to be on TV at all (unless we can get her on "Don't Forget the Lyrics"... win a mil... and not worry about our budget AT ALL!).

Last night we picked up the rest of the door locks (we needed to return some mismatched ones)... good thing, too. Neighbor Linda called last night to tell us, her dog Sid barked and scared off some people lurking around in the middle of the night a few days back.

So today, I dropped off the locks, called Frank to let him know the locks were at the house, called Dana to decline the TV offer (yeah, right), and to let her know we'd be around the next few days to pass off the checks.
